Ok, how are we going to pull together as a team to fix this little nastyness?

Shall we move all the [furry]stuff onto a temp server?  If so, should it be a pay server and be fast, or somebodies home connection and retarded slow?

If we go to a pay server, will anybody kick in some loot?

If we wait, too long, everything could be gone.

Dunno about everybody else, but this seems pretty major to me.

Listen,

While I have no resources to host these type of things, I am willing to pitch in.  I have no idea what the capabilities are of each of your home servers, but I'd be willing to pay to make it as great as it needs to be.

I figure that 10 USD per month is reasonable and multiplied by the rediculous number of members we have, should be plenty to get us going for a short while until the cat digs his claws into his next employer.

What do you all think?

While I'm fully able to relate to the financial woes of being a college age person, I think that this is important.  (Well, to me at least.)  You all seem able to afford an amazing array of software and hardware for your own use and even for other's use.  I am often shocked at just how much some of you must be spending on your connections, your servers, your apparently limitless supply of new games.

I, on the other hand, am trying to raise a family on my meager income.  I struggle to squirrel away enough dough to get the latest and greatest toys for my amusement.  However, because this is something important to me, I'm going to be able to make something happen.  But not by myself.  There are 22 of us and that translates to some potential buying power.  This is a "three musketeer" moment.

There's a few of us non Furrys who make use of the facilities who might be happy to pitch in if there were dues. I would certainly help out if everyone was contributing something, if only to ensure I can fall out of choppers and level up my sorceror.

Well I have plenty of machines.  I could cart one of my Linux boxes to a colocation company and run the mail, DNS, web and NWN servers off it.  What I couldn't do with it is BC as it's a Windows prog, unless I could get WINE to work.

I would have to research the cost.

BAH.  any of us can run BC from the states.  It would only REALLY suck for you.

It wouldn't really suck.  It doesn't suck for you lot on my server so why should it vice versa?

Dude... like I said... I'll do it, provided that I know I'm supposed to be doing it. It's a bitch to go back and forth to see if Furry's up or down. Like I said, I'd be more than happy to host BC, and take that small issue and deal w/ it.
