Question for the EVEsters
« on: 2008-03-25 13:55:54 »

For those that are/were able to stand EVE, do you have any opinions or information on the new add on, Ambulation (Ambulatory?)?

Actual ground game?  or just a box to run around in and click on mission terminals like in PotBS?

Oh Christ... they actually implemented the ground game.... which only suggests that they never got around to fixing all the bugs that have been around since the game was created.

It's in the works so nothing yet.  From what I gleaned in a long forum thread it sounds like it's going to be more like a very updated Freelancer situation.  Just space stations, no avatar combat or crafting, no planetary exploration, no planetary mining, farming, etc.

So far, I'm giving it a planatoid sized Meh until more info is released.

So basically... it's something they can waste their time on instead of fixing the problems that have been around since beta. Perfect.

If I end up having to pay for a month to play my old account I'll have to think about it some more, since I'm not really keen on starting a character that's just going to get scrapped in any case. There's also a good chance that if I do start playing my old character again I'll get insta-pwned and lose a multi million credit ship as soon as I enter the game, since I vaguely remember ending my last career in the middle of low sec space that Phoenix's old corp dragged me into for some hopeless PvP war... a rather demoralizing prospect.

The 45 minutes I spent in game didn't really grab me.  I wouldn't go re-activating on my account.  If anyone hadn't noticed though, the Steam free trial is 21 days.  The Eve website gives 14 days.

I've been back for a little while playing EVE. They just upgraded the high end content, but don't expect to get there for a while. EVE's learning curve is wicked steep, so it ain't for all you zombie lovin', cape wearin', pointless trinket farmin' foos.

It is very difficult to leave you character learning something for 48 real hours and go fly in a circle around a guy shooting....face it no one on this forums is playing a good game.
