Good for a laugh. I only ever played the first one; it was just as hilarious.

OMFG!!!!!!!!!!! I remember the first one! I didn't know they came out with a second! This should totally be brought back to life as a flash game. Hell, bring a surgical simulator to the PC world and I'm totally in.

And based on the description of what this guy did... I'm pretty sure he is me.

What I took away from Life and Death (the original) is that once you get to it, it only takes 3 clicks to remove an appendix, that major surgeries only take about 7 minutes from first incision to closure, and that the CAT scan is absolutely worthless for diagnosing pretty much anything.

I'd love to see a more realistic and in-depth surgery simulation. Unfortunately the problem from a gameplay perspective is the same one you touched on... making the game become anything more than a series of rote steps once you get the hang of it is difficult. I think if there was enough variety to the conditions instead of the handful in L&D it could work, though. Exploratory surgery where you don't know what you'll find going in, etc.

That doesn't bother Blizzard.
