Martin Brenner's house in WebGL
« on: 2013-06-18 14:02:54 »

Hey! Haven't been here in ages.

I've been messing around a bit with WebGL and three.js and thought that the best way to show off the cutting edge of 3d technology on the web is a 15 year game.  And so I ported the .scn viewer to the browser.

In case you feel like reminiscing here's the link:

http://jotinha.github.io/swatthree.js

If nothing shows up it probably means your browser doesn't support WebGL. Check here. I should really do some error handling.

Alien Abducter!  Long time no probe!

Looking at this link I conclude that you are truly demented, in a good way, but still. What possessed you?

You aren't still contemplating how to add additional animation classes to the game are you?

Wow. And that is both a "wow" of "wow, this is impressive" and "wow, people are STILL doing shit with SWAT3."

Ah yes =) It always sort of bugged me that I never completely understood the scn file format. So a few weeks ago I picked it up and finally found out how the lightmaps work, which was weirdly satisfying. It's like a puzzle that I like to keep returning to.

Having just learned three.js (the javascript 3d library) I thought it would make a nice demo.

Don't remember anything about the animation classes but I'm looking at these cmp files and thinking... that I should go out and fly a toy plane or something.

.cmp to .wav converter  seems like something furrycat would have made but it's not in the list.
