Warframe Damage 2.0
« on: 2013-12-03 20:12:35 »

Even though you don't play this anymore Northy, here is some useful info.

https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/134176-explained-damage-20-builds-with-cheatsheets/

Physical Damage
We have 3 physical damage types that (almost) all weapons have, in different amounts. Here they are:
Impact - Most effective on shields
Puncture - Most effective on armor
Slash - Most effective on health/flesh (non-robotic)

That seems simple enough, right? Well, those of you who have been enjoying Pokemon Snap in space, if you check the enemies in your Wardex (Codex), you may notice:
Corpus - Have health and shields, but NO armor
Grineer - Have health and armor, but NO shields
Infested - Have health, but NO armor OR shields

Much more confusing/interesting than the previous system.  At least now there is a need for all the different weapons and for the elemental mods.   In damage 1.0 all you needed was something to dish out raw damage and armor piercing. end of story.   High level armor neutralized the elemental damage so no need other than the second effects.

In 1.0 the Orthos, for example, was the only melee weapon I needed.  It one sliced all Infested common mobs and was very effective against all other targets.  Under 2.0 it is pretty much only an anti-infested weapon.  Similar article to the one above here:

I hope it really won't demand entire weapon loadouts dedicated to one mob type.  I was hoping you could modify mod loadouts instead, but...maybe not.
